Ariana’s Bright Future Grants – First Round Recipients Announced
Ariana’s Bright Future Grants provide $250 each quarter to four recipients across the electorate, helping with equipment, participation costs, or local projects that build a better future for Pumicestone.
“I’m proud to support our local community by offering small grants that can make a big difference—whether it’s helping a young athlete chase their dreams or supporting a community group with much-needed equipment,” Ms Doolan said.
“It’s a small way to give back to the people who make Pumicestone such a vibrant and inspiring place.”
The first round saw dozens of strong applications, reflecting the depth of talent, commitment, and community spirit across the region.
“Unfortunately, I couldn’t support every application this time, but I want to sincerely thank everyone who applied. Your efforts are valued, and I strongly encourage you to apply again in the next round, which opens in August,” Ms Doolan said.
“I was so impressed I actually handed out two more than expected.”
Among the first recipients were:
- Levi Davidson, a dedicated weightlifter from Bribie Island, working toward qualifying for Nationals
- Leo Melia, a 5-year-old kart racing prodigy from Beachmere, already making waves on the regional circuit
- Ruby Viterale, an 11-year-old basketballer selected for the representative Wizards team, balancing sport, school, and the arts
- Bribie Men’s Shed, seeking to improve member safety and access by installing a digital entry system
- Sophiya Gordon-Daveson, a 12-year-old high-performance gymnast at Delta Gymnastics with dreams of representing Australia, currently fundraising to compete in New Zealand
- Stephen Pooler, organiser of two Man Walk groups in the region, who will use the grant toward purchasing defibrillators to support men’s health and wellbeing
Each story reflects the spirit of the Bright Future Grant which emphasises the driven individuals and community groups who are working hard to make a positive impact.
“I’m looking forward to watching these recipients achieve their goals and continuing to support more local champions in the months ahead,” Ms Doolan said.
